Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez in real life better known as Regine Velasquez, one of the finest singer of Asia, widely popular due to her wide vocal range, A Filipino, singer, award-winning actress, box-office queen, record producer and a tv host. She won the Asia Pacific Singing Contest in Hongkong leaving all the judges at awed at her amazing performance.
The very first asian to held a concert at the Carnegie Hall in New York. She collaborated with many foreign artists such as Paul Anka,Brian Mc Knight, Mandy Moore, Peabo Bryson, 98 Degrees, Michel LeGrand etc. etc. etc, and every single one of them have only good things to say to the Asia's Song bird. Mandy Moore said that she was so excited doing a duet with Asia's no.1 pop star, Brian Mc Knight said that anyone who would compete with this lady in terms of vocal prowess would only fall flat. Dave Koz even said upon hearing Ms. Velasquez' version of Careless Whisper said that he never heard a rendition more beautiful than that, he even asked Ms. Velasquez to sing for him whenever they visit the Phil.
She was terribly ill and was rushed to the hospital after one of her concert, but the people who watched the concert doesn't have any idea about it especially when she sang "What Kind Of Fool Am I". I mean who would've thought that she's sick would you? Watch the vid and see for yourself
